Based on the two articles that were read, they are not that much different. One focuses on storylines and personas, while the other focuses on the personal view and story of the writer. In many ways, they can be different. But in other ways they are very similar. Although the objectives from both may be very different. The first article is called Working Class Ballet, the writer talks a little bit about himself and the soccer team Liverpool. The second is called Ranking the World Cup, the writer looks at twenty occurrences that have happened in a world cup. But for the sake of the blog, only one will be talked about.
In the first one, the writer talks a little bit about his childhood. He gives some background on the relationship he had with his dad. But the real attention was on the Liverpool football club. He talked about coach Bill Shankly. He believed that Shankly was a good coach for Liverpool and believed that during his tenure, Liverpool was unstoppable. He did not hold back to mention that Shankly was a lifelong socialist. Shankly believed that to be successful, that it was a collective. As the article continued, he mentions how the team was brought by capitalists named Tom Hicks and George Gillet. During their tenure, the team played their absolute worst. It seems in the article, it brings to light collective effort and individualism. In the article it mentions that these ideologies, specifically socialism, was not political, but a way of living.
In the second article, it goes by rankings. The first ranking going to be mentioned is number 25, Mark Balotelli. He is seen as a villain in soccer fans due to controversies. Yet fans from Manchester City didn’t mind too much as he scored the winning game point against Azzurri. But what is being revealed here is that he is still able to be viewed as a villain whether he is lead scorer or not. People are not fond of him because of his bad boy attitude.
What can be concluded is that both articles focus on the view of people. Both try to go into detail and both reveal some interesting points. They do not hold back any information and keep the reader interested. And finally, both try to understand the controversies that are occurring at the moment.
